Enrolment information
Program duration and related matters
People learn at different speeds and we do our best to ensure that all candidates achieve their goals within a reasonable timeframe. From 1 July 2007, strict rules shall apply regarding progression and completion time frames.
Normally, we expect:
- for a full certificate enrolment, completion within twelve months of enrolling
- for a short course enrolment, completion roughly one month per unit in the short course plus one month after enrolment; for example
- if you enrol in a 5-unit short course, you should expect to complete six months later
- if you enrol in a 1-unit short course, you should expect to complete two months later
These periods depend, naturally enough, on the delivery method and time commitment a candidate can devote to their enrolment. It can also depend on changes to personal circumstances, including those which may require you to leave your course early. However, you need to submit assessments or to make contact with us at least quarterly to ensure that your enrolment is not suspended or cancelled.
However, we have had students in the past who allowed their other life activities to take over. In some cases, years passed before we heard anything from them. For this reason, we are implementing the Progression Rule.
