Quality provider
It is a mistake to choose a training supplier based on least effort or least cost. Those who do this find out their error when they fail to gain employment in a highly competitive industry. Many RTOs are now using behavioural interviewing techniques to determine the suitability of the candidate. Those applicants who enrolled in 'fast and dirty' training programmes generally fail to make the grade.
We will never compromise our standards to 'lowest common denominator' because to do so degrades the professional status of ourselves and our graduates.
Quality does not 'cost' - it pays.
We focus on the skills we use every day in our RTO, the same skills which you you need to be employable, especially if you have ambitions to progress to more senior positions.
We use holistic assessment practices and accelerated learning techniques to build confidence and technique more effectively. We combine small group workshops with flexible delivery and mentoring to provide you with a personalised training experience.
To support our Best Practice in training delivery, we provide you with our own high quality resources which will provide you with a 'Best Practice skills bible' for many years ahead. These include many training document templates on CD-ROM or DVD so that you learn to 'work smarter'.
You will not learn theory for theory's sake. We use practical 'hands-on' tasks to show how well you integrate the theory into real work practices. For example, you conduct Training Needs Analyses as a basis for your other work. This will provide the evidence that you know how to 'unpack' training packages.
Our Training and Assessment Programmes Information Kit provides more information about the qualification and the various delivery methods. It also contains specific information you need to know prior to enrolments, including pre-enrolment requirements which applicants must be aware of before submitting an enrolment form.

Certificates
There are several ways an applicant can complete the full TAA40104 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
- enrol in the full program and complete the fourteen units through workshop or self-paced delivery (or a combination of both) either by undertaking individual units, modules or the complete program in a single enrolment
- enrol in the Bridging Program from BSZ40198
- complete the qualification through Recognition pathways, including Recognition of Prior Learning and Recognition of Current Competencies
Job seekers who are either self-referred or who have been referred by an Employment Services Provider should also read this Fact Sheet and visit the Productivity Places Program website for further information. The Productivity Places Program is an Australian Government initiative.
We are happy to send you our Training and Assessment Programmes Information Kit, available either in electronic (web-based) or printed format. This valuable resource contains our Prospectus, enrolment forms, unit information and important policies and procedures which you must be familiar with when you enrol.
You can also access this brochure and our prospectus.

Skill Sets and Modules
The TAA04 Training and Assessment Training Package version 2.1 now includes the following Skill Sets:
- Assessor skill set
- for those who need assessment competencies to assess according to AQTF 2007 requirements
- Enterprise Trainer skill set
- for those who train or coach others within the workplace through either accredited or non-accredited programs
- this is not sufficient for accredited delivery of training within a registered training organisation but is sufficient where on-job training is delivered as part of an apprenticeship or traineeship
- Enterprise Trainer and Assessor skill set
- for those who deliver accredited training and assessment within an enterprise Registered Training Organisation or in an enterprise working together with an RTO in an auspicing arrangement
We also offer several unit clusters for professional development purposes and can customise a program to meet specific requirements.
As with our full Certificate programs, the short courses are completed through workshops, self-paced delivery or a combination of both. Workshop dates are posted here and updated monthly. However, workshops are only held when we have a sufficient number of confirmed enrolments. Please contact us to confirm workshop dates or to discuss corporate in-house delivery.

Delivery
Depending on your program choice, you can complete your training through
- 6, 10 or 12 day workshops (click here for dates) blended with distance learning
- distance education blended with mentoring and practical assessment sessions (or appropriate alternative methods)
- Recognition assessment
- a combination of all these methods
Workshops are usually scheduled at weekly intervals and run for three hours. This is designed to give you as much time to read the relevant material and complete the required assessment tasks. Due to the complexity of this qualification, it is simply not practical to attempt to meet all of the required assessments (as stipulated by the units) within even the 12-Day workshop.
Blended delivery requires self-paced study combined with some workshops or seminars to reinforce what you have learned in your own time. Completing all reading and any formative assessment tasks before attending is therefore essential. The workshops or seminars also provide a forum for you to raise any questions for clarification before attempting summative assessment tasks.
We normally recommend that the 6-Day workshop programme be undertaken by candidates who have prior experience in competency-based training and assessment. However, an individual who has facilitated work-based training to established standards, particularly where resources and programmes were developed by that individual, may cope well with this programme. Past students who had little prior experience in this industry found that they struggled to meet the course requirements. They completed their program, but only after completing additional formal workshops.
Organisations wishing to enrol a group of applicants should send us an email to enquire about our discounted rates and in-house delivery options.

Duration
On average, you can expect to complete a module or topic at roughly monthly intervals. Since there are multiple assessment events which need to be completed (for example, unpacking 3 different units and preparing their resources), some modules may take a little longer to finalise. Past students have taken approximately six months to complete their training, including attendance at workshops.
All candidates are reminded about our Progression Policy, particularly those who are eligible for enrolment through the Productivity Places Program.

Assessment
You will demonstrate competency through a variety of means:
- formative assessment tasks provide valuable practice and skills development time
- activities can include completion of tables, preparation of assessment or delivery resources, facilitation of training and/or assessment sessions during a mentoring session
- Summative assessment tasks are more detailed and are designed to evaluate the full range of skills required in each unit
- tasks can include facilitation of training sessions in different settings, assessment under a range of conditions, developing several different assessment tools for specific requirements and so on.
- Work-based evidence can be used in place of these
- You can also apply for recognition.
Note that there are a number of ways that recognition can be obtained and the onus is on you to ensure that you provide sufficient reliable and authentic evidence to prove that you meet the set standards as defined by the unit/s of competency.

Qualification
Depending on your enrolment and progress through the training program, you may receive a Statement of Attainment in partial recognition of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or the full Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
These qualifications are recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework and therefore are accepted nationally.
