We can offer you a number of customised short course programs designed to meet specific enterprise or training needs. These are not identical to the Skill Sets defined by the TAA04 Training and Assessment Training Package. The following are examples of possible combinations and it is possible for us to facilitate a program based on other units to meet a specific need.
For example, we can facilitate:
- Training Services Co-ordination and Administration for individuals new to RTO administration requirements
- the Extended Assessor Module expands on the Assessor Skill Set by addressing all of the Assessment Field units in addition to TAADES401B
| Learning Design | Extended Assessor |
|---|---|
| TAAASS401C Plan and organise assessment | TAAASS401C Plan and organise assessment |
| TAAASS403B Develop assessment tools | TAAASS402C Assess competence |
| TAADEL401A Plan and organise group based learning | TAAASS403B Develop assessment tools |
| TAADES401B Use Training Packages to meet client needs | TAAASS404B Participate in assessment validation |
| TAADES402B Design and develop learning programs | TAADES401B Use Training Packages to meet client needs |
| TAAENV401B Work effectively in vocational education and training |
Providing evidence to satisfy Standard 1.4 (c) of the AQTF 2007 Essential Standards for Registration can be difficult. The following might help:
- Learning Design module is a purely professional development short course intended for applicants who need to develop learning and assessment tools
In addition to these options, we can also offer professional development to meet AQTF 2007 Essential Standards for Registration Standard 1.4 (c) through our Master Class series. These are generally coordinated by our sister enterprise, Sea Eagle Training, and delivered to corporate clients as part of our Vocational Education and Training consultancy services. Some Master Class modules relate to specific units and, upon payment of an additional fee, HBTA will assess any material you submit. If your evidence meets the relevant unit requirements, we will issue a Statement of Attainment for that unit.
Enrolment requirements
Our enrolment forms summarise the prerequisite entry requirements for this qualification. They are specified by the TAA04 Training and Assessment Training Package version 2.1 (pages 68-39) and include:
- a sound grasp of written and verbal English to at least a Year 10 English and Maths standard is required
- the language of training is quite complex; someone with low literacy levels will struggle with this qualification
- in particular, you need to be able to calculate the cost of delivering and assessing a program
- foreign language or sign language translators may not assist a candidate in this program
- familiarity with at least basic computer operations and with using programs such as Microsoft Word™, Excel™ and Power Point™ to at least Certificate III in Business Administration level
- the level of skill required is broadly equivalent to Certificate III in Business Administration (or equivalent) as you must be able to create a document, edit it and incorporate elements such as tables, graphics, hyperlinks, and styles in formatting
- you are required to develop resources using these applications and submit them both in hard and electronic copy
- training in the use of these programs is available at additional charge (with the option of completing specific assessments for the relevant BSB07 Units)
- vocational competence at least at the same level as the training/assessment you expect to undertake with an RTO in the future
gained through
- a Certificate, Diploma, degree or other recognised qualification
- on-job training or industry experience in specific skills
In addition, we tend to find that applicants aged 25+ have a greater success in demonstrating vocational competency compared to younger applicants. If you have any doubts about your ability to meet the vocational competency requirement, please contact us.
If you feel you lack the necessary level of expertise in English but still wish to complete this program, please contact us to discuss your options. Reference to external LLN tutors can be made but any fees which they may charge are in addition to our fees for the Certificate program. We have helped several international students complete this qualification, including those with good reading skills in English, but only less well-developed skills in verbal expression. By the time these students finished their course, their English skills were well able to cope with the requirements (and terminology) of vocational education.
The TAA40104 does not come in a "one size fits all" category which is in strong contrast to the old BSZ40198, so it is important to discuss prior training experience and vocational competency skills before you enrol. This will enable us to replace specific assessment tasks with other methods of determining competency, such as Recognition of Current Competencies or workplace evidence.
We find that conducting a pre-enrolment interview or a Training Needs Analysis ensures that all candidates are advised of the most appropriate mix of Units for their unique requirements.
The Training and Assessment Programmes Information Kit covers these restrictions in more detail.
