Full Certificate program
This Certificate provides the skills and knowledge required to provide supervisory and administrative services within a medical practice, department or clinic. The units cover a range of areas from customer service to administration. It also includes units in delivering on-job training and assessment to staff.
We deliver the program through distance learning (eLearning is available for some units), recognition and workshops. These pathways may be bleneded (for instance, attending a workshop with some units completed through distance learning).
At present, this qualification is not available as an Existing Worker Traineeship.

Delivery
There are no set workshops for this program but mentoring is available for distance education enrolments if required. Seminars/workshops can be facilitated for specific units, subject to sufficient enrolments being confirmed.
HLTOHS300A has a practical assessment requirement. It is not currently offered as a workshop, but this can be arranged where sufficient enrolment occur or for corporate training situations.
Please contact us by letter or email us for further details.

Enrolment
To complete this qualification, you must demonstrate competency in fifteen (15) units. These comprise 5 core and 10 electives, as shown on the enrolment form. Skills sets for the elective units include:
- record keeping (5 units);
- resources management (8 units)
- reporting (2 units)
- client support (5 units)
- work management / administration (10 units) and
- training and assessment (3 units, though we strongly recommend including a fourth)
While the enrolment form groups units by skills sets, you do not need to complete all units in a given set in order to obtain a valid and useful certificate. however, we do recommend that all of the training and assessment skill set units be taken together as they combine to form a vital skills cluster where on-job training forms part of your job role.
Though TAAASS402B Assess competence is not listed within the qualification packaging rules, we strongly recommend that it be included as it will give you the skills for assessing staff on-job. This unit complements TAAASS401B Plan and organise assessments, providing you with the practical skiils necessary to effectively implement the plans developed in the latter unit.
This skills set has practical assessment and extensive documentary requirements. Workshops can be arranged, but the evidence can also be provided through third-party reports or video recording actual delivery events and submitting these instead.

Fees and charges
An enrolment completed on a modular basis will incur a higher total fee for the full qualification when compared to enrolling in the full qualification from the start. This is simply because administrative and delivery fees become higher.
You may enrol in the full certificate and pay for the qualification through ten (10) equal payments of $360. Each will fall due at monthly intervals. This payment option will affect your Refund options, since we would not normally approve any request made for a plan-based enrolment. However, if you had to withdraw or chose to end your enrolment while funds remained owing, you would not need to pay for outstanding future instalments but would be expected to cover any amounts currently owing.
If you enrol on a modular basis and include the Training and Assessment skill set, the workshop fee of $840.00 must be paid in full before the workshop commences. Our standard conditions of payment and refund will apply.
Enrolment fees do not carry GST. However, we do apply GST to our service charges. These are listed on our Fees and charges page.

Recognition assessment
There are many ways to complete a program. This process recognises that you may not be a 'clean slate'. You may have completed training with another organisation (registered or unregistered training organisation or witn an employer, for example). You may also have working and life experience which you can use to demonstrate that you can already fulfill the tasks required by your chosen unit/s of competency.
There are four ways you can obtain a recognition assessment:
- Recognition of Prior Learning - your previous learning experiences & decided on the basis of documentary or interview evidence
- Recognition of Current Competencies - your current skills and skills, gained through a variety of means which do not inlcude formal learning, decided using a variety of methods
- National Recognition - automatically applies for an identical unit (same code, title and standards) in your program with us
- Credit Transfer - requires a judgement on our part between broadly equivalent (but not identical) Units or modules (combination of units) from accredited courses.
If you are interested in applying for Recognition, we recommend that you read the Health Programs RPL Handbook before contacting us and requesting an Application for an RPL Kit. The Handbook contains important and useful information regarding the collection of appropriate evidence. It also describes the process which we are obliged to follow in assessing Recognition applications.
