This is a pre-vocational Certificate. The skills are very general in nature. It allows you to develop basic skills and knowledge to prepare for work in positions where the range of technical skills and knowledge is limited. In most cases, you can expect to be employed in positions performing simple tasks under close supervision.
This qualification is often used in special government programs designed to assist specific groups of people improve their skills and therefore their employment options. Such programs include pre-vocational training for school-leavers, community training partnership programs and parents & carers programs.
HBTA does not currently have any programs of this type on offer. However, they will be listed on this page as they become available.

Fees & charges
Information about enrolment fees will vary depending on the service being provided under contract. We would expect that your enrolment fees would be fully covered by the program. However, some additional fees may be required for:
- interent connection outside of workshop sessions;
- self-catering expenses (where catering is not specifically included in the program)
This section will be updated as relevant government programs become available and will indicate whether any additional expense must be met by you.
Education fees do not carry GST. However, we do apply GST to our service charges. These are listed on our Fees and charges page.

Certificate I in Business requirements
You will need to complete 6 units of competency to complete the full BSB10107 Certificate I in Business. The enrolment form lists the available units and there are no pre-requisite requirements for individual units.
The unit BSBOHS201A Participate in OHS processes is a core unit and must be included in your selection.

Employability Skills
This qualification has employability skills. Employability Skills are embedded in training and assessment. This will depend on the government program being offered. In most cases, we will be conducting workshops at local venues.

What you receive
Applicants who have successfully met all competency requirements will receive a Certificate I in Business upon completion of their program.

Entry Points include:
- individuals participating in a VET in Schools program
- applicants who have little or no business administration experience and who are looking for entry-level skills recognition
- applicants who are seeking training at entry level employment as a Customer Service Assistant, Data Entry Operator, Office Assistant or Receptionist
- applicants seeking to complete an Existing Worker Traineeship while employed in these positions

Exit Points include:
- improved opportunities for employment as a Customer Service Assistant, Data Entry Operator, Office Assistant or Receptionist
- progression to Certificate II in Business
